Illinois Assessment of Readiness (dates to be determined)
The Illinois Assessment of Readiness exam, is administered to students in grades 3 through 8 in English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics each spring. The assessment aligns with the Illinois Learning Standards / Common Core Standards.
ISA - (dates to be determined) Grade 5 and Grade 8
The Illinois Science Assessment is administered to students in grades 5 and 8 during the spring of each year. There is one test, approximately one hour in length.
DLM - (dates to be determined) - Grades 3-8 Alternate Assessment
The Dynamic Learning Maps assessment is an alternative assessment administered to students in grades 3 through 8.
ACCESS for ELLs - mid-January through mid-February Grades K-8
Administered to English language learners in grades K-8 in the areas of speaking, listening, reading and writing.
Other nationally-normed standardized assessments
CogAT - (mid-January) Grade 4 and Grade 6
The Cognitive Abilities Test is administered to students in grades 4 and 6 in January. The CogAT assesses students’ abilities in reasoning and problem solving using verbal, quantitative (math), and nonverbal (spatial) symbols.
MAP - (May 2019) Grades 2-8
The Northwest Evaluation Association’s (NWEA) Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) is administered to students in grades 2-8 in the fall and in the spring in the areas of reading and mathematics. These MAP assessments are not timed, and generally take about 60 minutes for reading and 60 minutes for mathematics.
