Congress Park Dolphin Newsletter

4.19.24

Dear Congress Park Community,

Thank you to our students and families for joining us at the Spring Congress Park Open House Event. It was great to see students lead the way through the classrooms and hallways to provide family members with the "Congress Park Experience."

Some of our Lost and Found items were claimed at the Open House, however there are many sweatshirts, hats, jackets, and more that are still unclaimed. Please stop by to review our collection of missing items before Tuesday, April 30th at 3:00pm when remaining items will be donated.

We are eagerly anticipating the performance of our CP student dancers at tonight's EXPO de Bellas Artes at 6:30 pm at Park Jr. High! This event promises to be a remarkable showcase of talent, representing weeks of dedication, hard work, and, undoubtedly, lots of fun. Don't miss this incredible opportunity to support our students and witness their creativity come to life on stage!

Curriculum Corner: In fourth grade students have been learning about the economy around the world and how it is affected by the location, beliefs and customs of a society. Students have conducted research on the regions of the U.S. and have learned what goods and services are unique to that region. They have also created infographics to explain their findings to their peers. In addition, the fourth grade students have participated in the Pulsera project and are selling pulseras (bracelets) to provide opportunities for people with limited economic mobility in Nicaragua and Guatemala. So far the students have raised $2, 270. They will be selling pulseras at the Expo of Bellas Artes tonight.

Green Team

Earth Day is this Monday!  Celebrate with CP's Green Team:

Your CP Green Team would like to let you know more about the recycling programs that we run at school through Terracycle. These programs allow us to recycle items that cannot be recycled at home, and help us raise money for green initiatives at our school!

We need everyone who participates to make sure they only bring in items that we accept, and to make sure items are empty and clean.

Drop off your recycling in the containers at the main entrance!

Find out more about Terracycle on their website: https://www.terracycle.com/en-US/
