SNAP

La Grange School District 102 is pleased to begin its fourth school year with SNAP, or the Special Needs Advisory Panel. SNAP facilitates ongoing communication and collaboration between parents, staff members, and the district. Directed towards continuous improvement of special education services in La Grange District 102, the panel seeks new and renewing members who are eager to support these efforts. The group ideally consists of two parents and one special education staff member per building, as well as three general educators within the district, a parent representative for students who are placed outside of the district, and two school board members. SNAP encourages broad and diverse membership that reflects the demographics of our district in regards to race, gender, and background. The panel does not report to the board but instead serves as an advisory committee to the district administration. SNAP is led by Terry Sofianos Wohlgenant, Assistant Superintendent for Special Education, and Traci Milledge, Assistant Director of Special Education.

Meetings will be held in the Park Junior High LRC from 3:35 to 5:30 pm on the following dates:
Thursday, October 14th
Tuesday, November 30th
Thursday, February 17th
Thursday, April 7th
Potential members are kindly requested to commit to attending at least three of the four meetings.

In order to ensure representation reflective of the parent and staff community, those interested in serving on this important panel are asked to complete the following application by Friday, October 1st. You will receive a response regarding your membership on the committee by Friday, October 8th.  Thank you for your interest in SNAP as well as your support of students who receive special education services in 102.
