Next week is a busy one for Barnsdale PTO! Wednesday is Chipotle Day from 4:00 - 8:00pm. Our Nothing Bundt Cakes fundraiser starts on Monday and runs through 12/19. These desserts are perfect for immediate use and can be frozen to enjoy throughout the holidays.
Students have been working hard to build their reading stamina. Classes are working their way towards 10 minutes of sustained reading and will try to reach 15 minutes by the end of the year. During independent reading, students practice the skills and strategies they learn during reading groups and whole group lessons. It is also a chance to choose books of interest and develop a love for reading.
Below you can see a student cozied up in a reading corner during independent reading time while the teacher is circulating the room and conferring with other students.

The radar is looking promising for 1:00, so we are still planning to hold our parade today. In the case of a last minute downpour, we will keep the students inside. The parade will begin and end out of door #5 at the back of the building.
Any Kindergarten volunteers who are scheduled to arrive at 12:30 to help with costumes should check in at the office. Please remember to bring your proof of vaccination or the results of a negative Covid test within the past 48 hours.
