Congress Park Dolphin Newsletter

5.2.25

Dear Congress Park Community,

May is here! We’re excited to celebrate the incredible growth our students have shown this year, enjoy some sunny recess days, and begin the process of closing out the school year while dreaming ahead to the next. It’s a joyful time full of reflection and anticipation!

Author Visit Next Wednesday!

We are thrilled to welcome author Kate Hannigan to Congress Park next Wednesday for a special visit! This is an exciting opportunity for our students to meet a published author and learn more about the writing process. A big thank you to our amazing PTO for coordinating this wonderful event and for generously purchasing and sending home a book for each student!

In preparation for the visit, we encourage you to spend some time reviewing Kate Hannigan’s books with your child.

We’re looking forward to an inspiring day of reading and learning!

Kind regards,

Amy Grieve

Congress Park Principal

CP NEWS

Important - Registration for the 2025-26 School Year

This is a reminder that online registration must be completed for ALL returning students. If you know at this time that your child will not be attending Congress Park next year, please email the office at cp-office@dist102.k12.il.us.

Enrollment involves going online to fill out and update the required information for your student. Please be sure to verify that all information is correct - i.e. addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, emergency contacts, etc.

This process can be completed via your computer, tablet/iPad, or similar. Please note - you cannot complete online registration on a cell phone or through the PowerSchool App.

If you have multiple students, you must enroll each student separately.

You, as the parent/guardian of your child, should be listed as the first emergency contact.

If you lease a property or reside with someone within D102 boundaries,  we request that you submit an updated lease or the Residency Affidavits each year.

If your address has changed from what we have on file, you must provide new residency documents. You can upload new residency documentation as a part of this online registration, or drop off those documents at your child's school of attendance.

Residency information may be requested from returning families after the online registration has been submitted.

Your student's enrollment is not confirmed until you have completed all steps and provided the required paperwork.

Art Show

english

On Saturday, May 3, 2025, students from Congress Park (and all 102 schools) will have their artwork on display as part of the West Suburban Consortium for Academic Excellence (WSCAE) 9th Annual Student Art Expo. This free event takes place at Cheney Mansion (220 N. Euclid Avenue, Oak Park, IL) and is open from 10:00 a.m. through 2:00 p.m. Five hundred pieces of artwork created by local elementary and middle school students from 56 schools in 15 school districts will be on display. A number of local professional artists from the surrounding communities will be on hand to view the student artwork and provide feedback. Please plan to stop by, create, and support our student artists! For more information, visit wscaeartist.weebly.com.
