Dear Families,

Fall conferences will be held on Monday, November 22nd from 8 am to 8 pm.  Though we have a 12-hour timeframe, teachers may not be available all 12 hours.  Our conferences this year will again be virtual.  This letter will review the purpose of the conferences and the process that will be used to schedule conferences.  If you have any questions or concerns about the virtual conference, please contact your student’s teacher.

Conference Scheduling

Conferences will be scheduled through a two-step process.  The first step allows the teachers to request a conference with a parent to address challenges and opportunities for support.  Some teachers may schedule team conferences in place of individual conferences with this process.  Support teachers may also join a team conference or request their own conference with a parent/guardian.  All families will be notified if a teacher has requested a conference by Thursday, November 4th as priority will be given to those teacher-requested conferences when scheduling.

On November 10th, any parent that has not already been directly contacted can expect to receive an email with instructions to schedule a conference beginning November 12th.  Times will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.  The sign-up system will remain open until November 19th at 8 am.  Interventionists will not be listed in the sign-up system, so parents should contact those teachers directly to set up a time to meet with them virtually or speak to them over the phone to address any questions or concerns.

Like last year, all schools in District 102 will be utilizing an electronic system through PowerSchool for conference sign-ups.  Parents will access the conference sign-ups from the district PowerSchool Parent Portal located on the District 102 website.  Parents will click on the Power PTC link to access the sign-up portal.  On November 12th at 8:00 am the sign-up system will go live for parents to sign-up for conferences.  The system will close for conference sign-ups on November 19th at 8:00 am.  

All elementary conferences will be 17 minutes long to allow for a buffer in-between time slots.  We sincerely look forward to this opportunity to speak with you about your student’s progress.

6th Grade Parents and 5th/6th grade Talent Development: You will receive information for your conference sign-up from the classroom teachers. Unfortunately, due to the way we departmentalize in 6th grade, Power PTC won’t work for our sign-ups as it does for the rest of the grade levels. Please look for information from your child’s teacher.
