As the new principal of Ogden Avenue School, I am incredibly excited about the opportunity to support and work with the dedicated and talented staff members.Teaching is one of the hardest jobs on earth, and the staff’s passion for education and their commitment to our students' success is inspiring. Building strong relationships with the staff is one of my top priorities, and I can't wait to collaborate with everyone to create a positive and nurturing learning environment for our students. As a leader, my aim is to help create an atmosphere where the staff and students WANT to kick off the covers each morning. I’m counting down the days until the first day of school!
I’m looking forward to meeting everyone in our school community, listening and learning, and finding all the ways I can best support staff, students, and families. I am eagerly anticipating partnering with the Ogden PTC and becoming a part of our long-held traditions.The PTC’s unwavering support and dedication greatly contribute to the overall success of Ogden. Together, we will continue to build upon the strong foundation of excellence and create opportunities where students flourish as they make positive, lasting memories. A strong partnership between the school, parents, and the wider community is paramount to achieving this goal.
In addition to my passion for education, I am the proud parent of two wonderful kids who keep me busy and constantly inspire me. My son will be studying abroad in Spain in the spring and exactly one year from now, my daughter hopes to be heading to the University of Kentucky for her freshman year of college. I love music, attending concerts, and traveling. So far I’ve traveled to 34 states and seven countries, including Ireland where my father was born and raised. My dream vacation is Italy and I can’t wait to immerse myself in its rich culture, history, and breathtaking landscapes. One day!
I love, love, love kids, and I love when they are happy, engaged, and excited to learn. Education has the ability to shape lives, open doors to new opportunities, and empower students to make a positive impact on the world. Witnessing the growth and achievements of students as they develop their character, knowledge, and skills is immensely rewarding.
I have had the privilege of spending time with our exceptional administrative team, and I am excited to partner with and learn from them in the years to come. Their expertise and dedication to education are evident, and I am confident we will create a dynamic and supportive environment for our students. Furthermore, I am inspired by the leadership of our new superintendent, Dr. Chris Covino. His visionary approach to teaching and learning aligns with my own educational philosophy, and I am eager to collaborate with him and the entire district leadership team to ensure that our students receive the best possible educational experience.
I want to express my sincere gratitude to the D102 community for the warm welcome I have received thus far. I am humbled and honored to be a part of this remarkable school district.
