CLEON

Dear Congress Park Families, Students, and Staff,

My name is Catie Leon, and I am honored to introduce myself as the new Assistant Principal at Congress Park Elementary School.

It is with great enthusiasm that I join this vibrant school community known for its commitment to academic excellence, student success, and strong community values. With 9 years in education - spanning over three districts, as a former 5th and 6th grade teacher- I bring a deep dedication to student growth, staff collaboration, and fostering a safe, supportive learning environment for all.

My educational philosophy centers on building meaningful relationships, maintaining high expectations, and ensuring every student feels seen, heard, and valued. I look forward to partnering with families, supporting teachers, and working alongside Principal Catherine Rodriguez and the leadership team to build on the strong foundation already in place.

I am originally from Bloomington, Illinois. I received my undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Iowa, go hawks! In addition to Iowa City, I worked in Las Vegas for two years. I enjoy traveling with my husband and friends. I also love watching basketball and going to musicals.

Over the school year, I look forward to getting to know you—whether through classroom visits, school events, or hallway conversations. Please feel free to reach out or stop by the office to say hello. I am here to listen, support, and serve our students, staff, and school community.

Thank you for the warm welcome. I am excited about what we will accomplish together.

Warm regards,
Catie Leon
Assistant Principal
