Drew Mcguire

La Grange D102 is excited to announce that Drew McGuire will be the new Principal of Park Jr. High for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year.

Drew McGuire began his career in education 22 years ago as a middle school teacher in District 205, where he spent nine years building meaningful relationships with students and promoting academic growth. He went on to serve for 11 years as an Assistant Principal at York High School, supporting a wide range of areas including student activities, instructional leadership, student services, and school operations. Most recently, he served as the Principal of Marquardt Middle School in District 15, further strengthening his leadership at the middle school level.

In addition to his administrative experience, Mr. McGuire has coached a variety of sports across multiple levels, reinforcing his belief in the value of student opportunities, extracurricular activities and offering ways to help shape well-rounded students.

Mr. McGuire brings leadership experience to D102 in the areas of academic programming shifts, PLC growth and facility improvements - all areas of significant Strategic focus in the years ahead. Superintendent Chris Covino said, “Mr. McGuire is an empathetic, collaborative, and hardworking leader who is passionate about creating an environment where all students can discover and pursue their interests both inside and outside the classroom.”  He added, “Our selection committee was impressed with Mr. McGuire's experience and commitment to partnering with staff, families, and the broader community to ensure that every student is supported and successful.” 

Mr. McGuire said, “I am honored and humbled to be selected as the next Park Junior High Principal, and I am eager to meet and serve the students and families of Park Junior High while maintaining and expanding high levels of learning for all kids.”

Mr. McGuire lives with his wife, a fifth-grade teacher, and their two elementary and middle school aged children. District 102 is excited to welcome Mr. McGuire to the Park Junior High family.
