La Grange School District 102 was recently notified of a cybersecurity incident involving Instructure, the company that provides our Canvas Learning Management System. On May 1, 2026, Instructure disclosed that a criminal threat actor gained unauthorized access to their systems.
Current Status and Response
Instructure has reported that the incident was contained by revoking privileged credentials and access tokens, deploying security patches, and increasing monitoring across all platforms.
For continuous updates from the vendor, please refer to Instructure's official incident page. District 102 remains in communication with the vendor to ensure all protocols are followed. In accordance with SOPPA, we are providing this notice to ensure transparency and the continued protection of student data privacy.
