Community Approves D102 Bond Referendum

La Grange School District 102 voters approved the district’s facilities improvement proposal on the April 2, 2025 ballot. According to unofficial results, 67.55% of voters supported the measure, which required a simple majority to pass.

The proposal is the result of RenewD102, a community engagement and planning effort launched in early 2025 to develop a long-range facility master plan. This work built on the foundation of Vision 2030, a strategic plan shaped by parents, staff, and residents to guide the future of education in the district.

“This result reflects the values of a community that cares deeply about education,” said Dr. Chris Covino, Superintendent of La Grange D102. “We are grateful to everyone who helped shape this plan from the ground up and those who voted to move it forward.”

The proposal will address infrastructure needs in aging school buildings, improve safety and accessibility, update classroom spaces, and expand learning environments for STEM instruction.

While the planning process began earlier this year, this vote marks the start of a new phase. Work will unfold over the next several years, and we will continue to be diligent stewards of community resources throughout. Just as community input shaped the RenewD102 plan, we will continue to engage families, staff, and residents—gathering feedback, sharing updates, and working together to bring this vision to life.
